Over P3.7 billion worth of illegal drugs were seized in the first six months of the Duterte administration as a result of “Oplan Double Barrel” campaign of the Philippine National Police (PNP), a statement said on Friday, January 13.
“This is the result of the unremitting dedication and support of the PNP to the flagship program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte embedded in the nationwide anti-illegal drugs campaign Oplan Double Barrel,” the PNP Public Information office (PNP-PIO) said.
The PNP National Anti-illegal Drug Monitoring Center (NAIDMC) said 18 police regional offices recovered more or less 95,000 sachets of shabu from July 1, 2016 to January 12, 2017 in which 8,581 sachets were confiscated by National Capital Region Police Office.
Police Regional Office 3 recovered the most marijuana sachets (111,350 sachets) out of more or less 113,000 sachets of marijuana seized nationwide, the PNP said.
The PNP said that it will focus more on eliminating illegal drugs and arrest high-value target illegal drug personalities.
