Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade on Thursday gave due praise to two members of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 and one taxi driver for their honesty. All three were commended for returning packages containing large sums of money.
Wheelchair porter Rizalde Ocde found P700,000 in cash at the NAIA Terminal 3 departure area. Airport security guard Alfredo Baldoza found a pouch $5,500 in the same place. Both Ocde and Baldoze surrendered these items to the authorities.
Meanwhile, taxi driver Antonio Infante returned P200,000 that a passenger left in his vehicle.
"Sana dumating ang panahon na normal na gawain na ang pagiging tapat, lahat ng tao ay gawin ito," Tugade said upon meeting the three.
Ocde, Baldoza, and Infante received reward money from Tugade, taken from his own pocket. Tugade also called a doctor he is friends with to operate on Infante's cleft lip for free.
