President Rodrigo Duterte, who has slammed members of the media on several occasions, extended a friendly gesture to a reporter on Monday.
Duterte was answering questions during a chance interview outside the Malacañang palace when he offered his white handkerchief to a female journalist.
"Ma'am hindi ko pa nagamit ito, sa totoo lang," he said. (Ma'am, I haven't used this yet, honestly.)
"Akin na po ba ito?" the reporter asked. (Could I keep this?)
"Isauli mo, kung gusto mo lang. Mayroon din ako dito, nagdi-drip din ako," he said, pulling out a wad of tissue and dabbing his nose.
(Return it, only if you want to. I have another here, my nose is also dripping.)
