The operation of mining site in Brooke's Point, Palawan was been stop due to illegal cutting of trees.

They filed the suspension order tree-cutting permit at earth-balling permit of Ipilan Nickel Mining Corporatio.

The also filed the show-cause order and urged them to explain within three days why should they not be file a case on their operation when Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) permit was cancelled.

"Hindi ko rin nagustuhan na hindi kayo pinapapasok. Iba-back up ko kayo. Be man enough to face it," Cimatu said.

The residents first rally was on April 2. When the mining company start operate even though the ECC permit was canceled.

On May 3 the authorities go on the mining site because thousand of trees was illegally cut.
The mining firm says they will only stop when DENR central office could show proper documents

"Pagpapasok daw kami babarilin daw kami. Wala silang mayor's permit, fencing permit, tuloy-tuloy trabaho nila,” ani Mayor Jean Feliciano ng Brooke’s Point.

"We told them na tigil muna but they wrote me na abuse of authority daw ako. Nag-cut sila without the presence of DENR,” ani Felizardo Cayatoc ng Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer.
